Project Description: The Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems were used to meet the requirements set forth by the engineer of record. The design requirement was to provide continuity to the existing transverse slab steel at the new disinfection contact basin in Surprise, Arizona. The lack of steel continuity was the result of a construction anomaly.
Solution: The final coat over the Tyfo® SCH-41 composite was a thick layer of thickened Tyfo® S epoxy and dry, coarse sand broadcast over it. This provided a surface suited for bonding between the repaired area and the new concrete overlay to be poured over the slab.
Summary: Fibrwrap® Construction Inc. successfully completed the installation of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems by working nights to avoid working in extremely warm weather conditions during the day. The project was completed well before schedule due to the ease of installation of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems.
