Project Description: The Dean and Deluca building is a newly built structure that suffered from inadequate flexural capacity on the slabs due to unforeseen penetrations that were required to accommodate kitchen equipment and operations.
Solution: Because of the versatility of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems, they were able to work and design around the penetrations and provide the required positive and negative flexural enhancement as determined by J.S. Dryer & Associates Structural Engineers.
Summary: With the versatility of the Tyfo® Fibrwrap® Systems, the design of the fiber was able to work around existing conduits and openings that otherwise would have required movement and replacement.
Fibrwrap® Construction installed the carbon-based uni-directional Tyfo® SCH-41 fabric on the top and bottom of the slab in multiple locations and provided them with a Tyfo® R&R finish to match the existing concrete slab.
