Project Description: The Encore Hotel is a newly built full-scale resort hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas strip. An expansion to the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, this new hotel holds 2,034 rooms and features a 74,000 sq. ft. casino.
Upon structural inspection during the construction phase, it was discovered that several slab locations were deficient in negative moment flexural capacity.
Solution: The use of advanced composites to retrofit the slabs was the ideal solution due to the large impact that conventional methods of repair would affect and delay the current construction schedule.
Summary: Fibrwrap Construction quickly came on scene and installed the carbon-based Tyfo SCH-41S-1 System on top of the existing slab locations to provide the required negative moment flexural capacity. The expediency of the repair allowed the current construction to resume as scheduled.
