Project Description: Central Health Authority in Gander Newfoundland purchased two new MRI machines and the existing floor slab could not accommodate the load increase.
Solution: Fibrwrap Construction strengthened four T-Beams on the underside of the slab with the Tyfo SCH-41 system before applying a 2 hour AFP (Advance Fire Protection) system.
Summary: Only the ceiling tiles had to be temporarily removed to access the underside. No lighting or plumping fixtures needed to be interrupted and there was no disruption for the hospital. The project only took four days from start to finish.
