Project Description: The bridge is comprised of post-tensioned concrete bridge decks supported by abutments & two piers. There was a location where post-tensioning cables were damaged due to corrosion.
Solution: Fibrwrap Installations provided a turn-key solution by installing the Tyfo® SCH-41 System. Because of freezing temperatures, the installation area had to be controlled by an easily erected enclosure and heaters were set in place to allow the system to cure.
Summary: The overpass remained in operation during the quick, cost-effective Fibrwrap installation. The Tyfo® Fibrwrap® installation was completed in a few hours and helped expedite the project as this approach to the MacKay Bridge is located at a very busy section into the city.
