The negative moment capacity of the existing slab was insufficient and required additional reinforcement. Due to the age of the structure if the conventional construction approach was taken, additional remedial costs would concur.
Solution:
Fibrwrap Installations provided a turn-key solution by installing the Fyfe Tyfo SCH-41 Composite system along with the Tyfo SCH Composite anchors to supplement the required additional negative moment capacity.
Due to the circumstances if the conventional construction approach was taken, additional reinforcing steel and concrete would have to be installed resulting in thickening of the slab. As a result additional members of the structure would have to be strengthened as well. Using the Fyfe Co. LLC light weight Advanced composite system, the slab was thickened by only 5mm thus saving the owner in additional remedial costs.
Summary:
Fibrwrap Installations Ltd. completed the Northwood Manor installation in a cost-effective manner on time. By using this innovative technology the owner saved on additional remedial costs. |
