Project Description: Three 96" diameter PCCP sections at the San Diego County Water Authority were deemed structurally deficient due to corrosion. Fibrwrap® Construction was contracted to provide the required repair.
Solution: The Tyfo® Fibrwrap® System was designed to resist the loads from the earth’s pressure, live loads, and internal pressures. 1 layer of the carbon-based Tyfo® SCH-41-2X System was installed in the longitudinal direction and 8 layers in the hoop direction to restore the pipe back to working capacity.
Summary: Fibrwrap® Construction was able to mobilize quickly and perform the repair in an effective and timely manner, resulting in time savings and shut down time.
