Project Description: The Sifto Salt Corporation required additional hoop tension in one of their salt silos as the existing silo was deficient. Currently, the existing walls are comprised reinforced concrete and hollow clay tile.
Solution: Fibrwrap Installations Limited installed the uni-directional Fyfe Company Tyfo SEH-51A® fabric to supplement the required confinement force set forth by consulting engineers.
Implementing new aged technology, the owner was provided an alternative to conventional construction which resulted in vast time savings, reduced remedial costs and reduced shut down time.
