Project Description: A URM and partial concrete wall section at the Culver Center of Arts in UC Riverside required additional shear strengthening due to corroded reinforcing steel and spalled concrete.
Solution: Fibrwrap® Construction, Inc. applied a concrete repair mortar to address the spalled concrete as well as the significant change in surface plane from the URM to concrete wall at a 6:1 ratio to smooth out the transition.
The glass-based Tyfo® SEH-51A was then installed both in the horizontal and vertical direction to provide the adequate required reinforcing as determined by Saiful Bouquet Structural Engineers.
The Tyfo® R&R material was applied as a finish, providing a Class 1 Flame and Smoke rating.
